Clinical Profile of Peripheral Arterial Disease Inpatients at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya from 2019-2021

Background: As one of the leading causes vascular morbidity and mortality, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) remains most underdiagnosed undertreated atherosclerotic diseases. The relatively high prevalence PAD combined with an aging population, increasing burden chronic diseases, poor control risk factors will contribute to poorer clinical outcomes in coming decades. Objective: This study aims identify profile inpatients at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya 2019 – 2021. Material methods: is a retrospective observational descriptive using total sampling technique acquire data from patients medical records arteriography reports diagnosed as PAD, which confirmed by examination during January - July Results: Among 74 included, was more prevalent men (52.7%) than women. commonly affected age group above 45. Duplex ultrasonography reported triphasic waveform found on left (33.8%) right (39.2%) lower extremities common femoral artery (55.4%) location. Arteriography complete occlusion (44.6%) (41.9%) (51.4%) Critical limb ischemia (70.3%) presentation among patients. Antiplatelet agents (93.2%) were prescribed pharmacological agent PAD. Patients average hospitalized for 6.76 days. Conclusion: discovered that vast majority over 45, being location lesion.
